Sometimes, the most incredible talent isn’t found on a distant stage—it’s right in our own neighborhood.

Andrea Durkee is one of those hidden gems. She’s not only an accomplished musician with a lifetime of experience, but also one of our neighbors right here in Arbor Lake. And now, we have a wonderful opportunity to come together as a community and support her.
A Lifetime of Music
Andrea’s musical journey began early. She started playing piano as a child and moved to the organ at just 12 years old. By the age of 14, she was already serving as a full-time church organist—an impressive start to what would become a lifelong calling.
She went on to major in organ in college and has spent decades accompanying choirs and musical groups. For 30 years, she served as an organist, choir director, and handbell director at her church in Indianapolis.
Today, she continues sharing her gifts as the music director at Trinity Lutheran Church in Holly Hill, enriching lives through music every week.
Performing with Volusia Community Arts
Andrea is one of the pianists for the Volusia Community Arts (VCA), a local organization that brings outstanding live performances to our area.
VCA features three ensembles:
Symphony Orchestra
Jazz Ensemble
Wind Ensemble
Each group performs twice a year, creating a full calendar of live music experiences.
Andrea is currently performing with the Jazz Ensemble and occasionally joins the other groups as needed—demonstrating both her versatility and dedication.
