The Landscape Committee recently met to review ongoing landscaping concerns and provide updates to the Board. Here’s a summary of the key items discussed:
Juniper Removal
Twelve units have been identified where junipers need to be removed due to improper trimming that left roots exposed. The Board will be working with our landscape company to provide a cost-effective removal process, which may take a few months to complete. This approach ensures the work is done carefully and efficiently.
Oak Trees
The committee recommended that oak tree trimming be prioritized in early 2026. This will help prevent damage to new sod or top-dressing and maximize sunlight for new plantings. While there is currently nothing in the budget for this project, the Board agrees this is an important issue and will do its best to address it during 2026. A bid for this work was received last year, and planning will continue in coordination with the landscaping team or tree trimming service.
Landscape Team Performance
The committee raised concerns about the performance of our landscaping team. Issues include incomplete clean-up after mowing or trimming and unsafe practices, such as spraying chemicals over outdoor extension cords and employees being distracted during work. The Board, along with the Landscape Committee, will compose a formal letter to the landscaper addressing these concerns, ensuring that safety and quality standards are maintained moving forward.
We appreciate the committee’s diligence and the Board’s commitment to keeping our community beautiful and safe. Residents can rest assured that these landscaping issues are being actively addressed.
