On Thursday, February 12th, neighbors gathered at the gazebo for the official kickoff of the Prestwick Townhomes II Garden Club—and what a wonderful way to begin this new chapter for our community!
From 10:00–11:30 a.m., residents came together not just to talk about plants, but to cultivate something even more meaningful: connection, stewardship, and shared vision for our beautiful neighborhood.
A Warm Welcome
The morning began with welcome remarks from Ken Fehner, HOA Board Treasurer and past Chair of the Landscape Committee, who reflected on the journey that led to this moment. The creation of the Landscape Committee laid the foundation for what has now blossomed into a dedicated Garden Club—an exciting next step in cultivating our community.
Leadership in Action
Special thanks go to Viviana Criado, our Garden Club Convener, who did a fantastic job organizing the event and bringing neighbors together. Her leadership, energy, and attention to detail made the kickoff both seamless and inspiring. We are grateful for her vision and commitment to helping this club grow.

If you weren't there you missed out on the eats!

Thank you all for attending!
The Landscape Committee update was presented by Patricia McKlin, Chair of the Landscape Committee, who shared insights on ongoing efforts and future opportunities to enhance our shared spaces.
A Special Presentation: Planting with Purpose
One of the highlights of the morning was a special presentation by Nicole Foy, Horticultural Chair and Recording Secretary for the Ormond Beach Garden Club.
Her presentation, “Planting with Purpose: Containers, Natives, and Pollinators in Florida Zones 9b–10a,” was both educational and empowering. Rather than simply telling us what to plant, Nicole equipped attendees with the tools to observe, assess, and choose plants wisely for our gazebo space.
She shared insights on:
Selecting native plants suited for Florida’s unique climate
Designing container gardens with intention
Supporting pollinators and local ecosystems
Creating beautiful spaces that are sustainable and purposeful
Nicole’s blend of creativity, conservation, and education truly resonated with attendees. Her passion for cultivating spaces rooted in integrity and beauty was evident throughout her talk.
Nicole will also be speaking at the Ormond Beach Garden Club Flower Show March 28th at the Casements!
Community in Bloom
The event concluded with an engaging Q&A session, where neighbors shared ideas, asked thoughtful questions, and began imagining what our gazebo area can become.
Most importantly, the morning reminded us that gardening is about more than soil and seeds—it’s about community. When neighbors come together with a shared purpose, amazing things can grow.
Thank You!
A heartfelt thank you to:
Everyone who attended and contributed to the conversation
Nicole Foy for an inspiring and practical presentation
Patricia McKlin for her leadership of the Landscape Committee

We’re excited to see how the Prestwick Townhomes II Garden Club continues to flourish in the months ahead. 🌸🌱
