Upcoming Landscape Improvements at Prestwick Townhomes II

As we look ahead to spring, we want to share an update on several important landscape projects scheduled for our community over the next 4–6 weeks.
🌱 Post-Cold Weather Cleanup (Timing Matters!)
You may have noticed areas of plant material showing signs of cold weather damage. While it may be tempting to trim everything back immediately, we will be waiting approximately 4–6 weeks before completing the cleanup.
Why the delay?
This approach is recommended not only by our professional landscaper, but also by Nicole Foy of the Ormond Beach Garden Club. Waiting gives plants the opportunity to recover naturally and allows us to determine which areas will bounce back on their own before pruning or removing material.
We understand that this interim period may look a bit unsightly. However, this method protects the long-term health of our landscape and prevents unnecessary damage from premature trimming. In short — patience now means stronger, healthier growth later.
February – March: Major Landscape Projects
We also have several approved projects on the schedule:
Turf-related landscaping work is scheduled to begin in March.
These improvements are part of our ongoing commitment to maintaining and enhancing the beauty of Prestwick Townhomes II.
Spring Treatment Schedule
To ensure our community looks its best heading into peak growing season, the following treatments are planned:
Early Spring
Application of a nitrogen-based fertilizer to promote healthy growth, help turf green up, and fill in for the season.
An additional pre-emergent application to prevent weeds before they germinate.
Throughout Spring
Each service visit will include broadleaf weed control to maintain a clean and uniform appearance across the property.
Late Spring
A targeted insecticide treatment to control chinch bugs, mole crickets, and sod webworms. This timing ensures maximum effectiveness and longer-lasting protection.
Post-Winter Leaf Cleanup
Once the trees have fully finished dropping their leaves, our landscaper will complete a thorough, neighborhood-wide leaf cleanup to refresh our common areas and prepare for the growing season ahead.
Growing Forward
Our goal is always to balance curb appeal with best horticultural practices. The upcoming weeks will involve thoughtful timing, professional treatments, and strategic improvements designed to keep Prestwick looking its best — not just for this season, but for years to come.
Thank you for your patience and continued support as we care for and cultivate our beautiful community.
