What Our Neighbors Are Up To: Andrea Durkee Takes the Stage!
One of the wonderful things about our community is the incredible talent, energy, and creativity right here among our neighbors. From volunteering and community service to music, the arts, and local events, our neighbors are always finding ways to make our community a better and more interesting place to live.
This month, we'd like to shine the spotlight on our neighbor Andrea Durkee, who is keeping very busy this fall with Volusia Community Arts.
Andrea will be performing piano solos in all three of Volusia Community Arts' upcoming productions, giving our neighbors several opportunities to see her share her musical talents.
🎼 Divine Comedy: Dante's Journey
Andrea will be participating in both the Wind Ensemble and the production of Divine Comedy: Dante's Journey.
The Wind Ensemble performance will take place:
Saturday, October 17, at 7:30 p.m.Stetson Baptist Church1025 W. Minnesota Ave., DeLand
Divine Comedy: Dante's Journey takes audiences on a musical journey inspired by Dante's epic work. The production is approximately 90 minutes, and reserved seating is $25, with student tickets available for $15. Children five and under are admitted free.

🎮 Press Start: Video Game Music with a Big Band Twist
If you're a fan of video games—or just love great big-band music—Andrea has another performance coming up!
The Jazz Ensemble will present Press Start – Video Game Music with a Big Band Twist on: Friday, October 30, at 7:30 p.m.Stetson Baptist Church
The performance will celebrate music from some of the video games many of us remember playing over the years, but with a big-band twist.
Andrea says, "We will be reminiscing on old video games—it’s been a lot of fun!"
Sounds like a great night of music and nostalgia!
🎄 Holiday Concert
And Andrea isn't stopping there.
She will also be performing piano solos with the Volusia Community Arts
Symphony during its annual holiday concert:

The holiday concert is always a special way to kick off the Christmas season, bringing beautiful music and a festive atmosphere to the community.
